This contemporary four‑storey house in Woolton Hill, Liverpool sits on a red sandstone outcrop and steps up with the natural gradient of the landscape.

The change in levels across the plot allowed the garage to sit neatly beneath the ground‑floor living space. Living spaces are positioned on the first and second floors, where the elevated setting offers wide views across the Lancashire Coastal Plain, reaching as far as Manchester on a clear day.

This house is a thoughtful response to a steep site;  making the most of the outlook while keeping the building grounded in its setting.
